The Stratford Hall SAT Prep Program

Program Structure Overview

The Stratford Hall SAT Prep Program is a structured six-week course delivered live online, designed for students who are serious about improving their SAT performance.

Step 1 — Orientation Day (First Saturday, ~4 hours)
Students register for the official SAT, complete a full-length SAT practice test, and prepare materials and technology for the program.

Step 2 — Foundations Bootcamp (Weeks 1-2)
Intensive daily sessions (Monday—Friday) covering foundations in English, Math, and SAT strategy.

Step 3 — Speedwork & Coaching Clinics (Weeks 3-6)
Small-group sessions (3 times per week: M-W-F or T-Th-Sat) focusing on timed practice, performance analysis, and individualized feedback. Students take the official SAT on the final Saturday.

Program Logistics

  • Each instructional session is 90 minutes, followed by optional office hours for 30 minutes.

  • Students complete a full-length SAT every other Saturday, beginning on Orientation Day.

  • In total, the program includes over 50+ hours of live instruction and support.

Technology Requirements

Students must have:

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A functioning 2-in-1 laptop or touchscreen tablet with at least 4 hours of battery life

  • A stylus (required) for writing and sharing work live in real time

  • An SAT approved calculator (satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/what-to-bring-do/calculator-policy).

  • Microsoft Teams installed and working properly

Materials Requirements

Students must bring the following materials:

  • A set of physical colored flashcards (3 colors total: English, Math, and Strategy)

  • A flashcard storage box

  • Black Ink FriXion Point 0.5 Erasable Pens* and ink refills* for clear writing

  • A note book or printer paper

Flashcards will be used daily to reinforce key concepts and improve retention throughout the program. An example format will be shown during Orientation Day.

*FriXion ink is heat sensitive: If left in a hot car, your writing will turn invisible, and you will need to put your flashcards/notes in the freezer to recover your writing. FriXion pens left in a hot car will need a new ink refill.

Orientation Day (First Saturday – Approximately 4 hours)

Orientation Day is focused on setup and readiness. During this session, we will:

  • Review expectations and materials for the program

  • Install and configure SAT Bluebook application

  • Register for the official SAT

  • Walk through the structure and format of the SAT

  • Complete a full-length SAT practice test under timed conditions

This session ensures that all technology, logistics, and expectations are clear before instruction begins the following Monday.

Full-Length SAT Simulations (3 total – Approximately 3 hours each)

Students complete three full-length SATs under real testing conditions during the program (including Orientation), spaced two weeks apart on Saturday mornings. This is a key part of the program, helping students reduce test-day anxiety, build endurance, and improve pacing, which are necessary for significant score improvement.

Foundations Bootcamp (Weeks 1–2)

Bootcamp is designed to efficiently review and fill in knowledge gaps of the essential reading, writing, and math concepts tested on the SAT. Bootcamp also covers test strategies critical for maximizing student scores.

  • 90-minute sessions, Monday—Friday

  • Focus on core grammar and reading rules, math fundamentals, and test strategy

  • Students are assigned to small groups of no more than 4 students

  • During Bootcamp, two groups train together (max 8 students per session)

  • Optional instructor office hours follow each session (30 minutes)

Speedwork & Coaching Clinics (Weeks 3–6)

Clinics reinforce core concepts while developing the speed required for high SAT performance.

  • 90-minute sessions, 3 days per week (M-W-F or T-Th-Sat)

  • Focus on timed practice, speed training, test-taking strategy refinement, individual error analysis, and personalized feedback

  • Instruction is intentionally limited to small groups of 4 students or less so every student receives meaningful feedback and individualized coaching

  • Optional instructor office hours follow each session (30 minutes)

Please note: Students that normally meet T–Th–Sat meet T–Th–Fri during week 6 because the official SAT takes place on the final Saturday of the program. The final Friday session brings paired groups together again (maximum 8 students) for a lighter review designed to reinforce confidence and ensure students are rested, energized, and prepared for the official SAT the following day—the final Saturday of the program.

Student Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Attend all sessions

  • Arrive prepared and determined to succeed

  • Participate actively (meeting camera on)

  • Maintain legible and organized flashcards

  • Practice flashcards consistently between sessions

  • Behave respectfully and cooperatively at all times

Tuition

Full program tuition: $1490

Please note: the College Board charges approximately $68 for SAT registration, which is paid directly by you (or by your student with your credit card) during Orientation Day.

Tuition includes all six weeks of instruction and office hours (over 50+ hours of live instruction and support).

Many private SAT tutoring programs require substantially higher tuition to deliver a comparable amount of live instructional time. Stratford Hall Prep uses a structured small-group model designed to provide individualized coaching while maximizing efficiency and value.

SHP Advanced Clinics

Stratford Hall Prep (SHP) Advanced Clinics are available to students who complete the Stratford Hall Prep program and want to continue improving their scores.

Students in SHP Advanced Clinics participate alongside the six-week program cycle with a modified structure:

  • Orientation (required): Students attend Orientation to register for their next SAT and complete a full-length practice test

  • Session Attendance: Students attend three sessions per week and are expected to complete at least three full-length SAT practice tests during the six-week program

  • Independent Clinic Work: During sessions, students complete practice tests and targeted review in a structured, independent format. Dedicated support is provided during office hours following each session, where students can ask questions, review challenging problems, and receive targeted guidance. Instructional priority during sessions and office hours is given to students in the core program; however, SHP Advanced Clinic students have consistent opportunities to receive guidance and are not expected to work through challenges alone.

For SHP Advanced Clinics, enrollment is offered at a nominal six-week program rate of $200.
